Bill Ruehle / Chairman
Bill Ruehle is an experienced financial executive with a unique background in growing tech companies from pre-public to multi-billion dollar revenue streams. From 1997 to 2006, Bill was the Senior Vice President and CFO of Broadcom Corporation. He joined Broadcom when it was a private company with an annual revenue rate of $20 million from three lines of business and with around 150 employees. A year later, Bill took the company public and over the next nine years helped to grow it to over $3.6 billion in revenue from 22 lines of business and with over 5,000 employees.
Before Broadcom, Bill served as the Executive Vice President and CFO of Bay Networks and its predecessor company, SynOptics Communications. Again, joining the company when it was private, within a year Bill took the company public and over ten years helped grow a $2 million business with 30 employees to a business generating $2 billion in annual revenue and with over 6,000 employees. Prior to Bay Networks/SynOptics, Bill was the CFO of Acrian, a privately-held semiconductor company, for nine years. For the first eleven years of his career, he worked on the corporate controller's staff at CBS in New York as well as at various early stage Silicon Valley companies. Bill holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Allegheny College.
