Tractivity and Health Systems Group get Employees Moving

Paul Shore

The research is in – and the results are worth standing up for. Sitting is killing us. In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) currently ranks physical inactivity fourth on the list of major risk factors for chronic disease. For those of us that work in an office setting, this isn’t great news. What’s worse is even if you sit all day and run a marathon after work, you experience the same negative effects as those who sat all day but didn’t run the marathon. So what can we do?

Groups like Health Systems Group (HSG) believe that corporate wellness programs are the solution, specifically a program that integrates Tractivity. When HSG integrated Tractivity in their program, they saw an astounding 65% of their client PCL Construction Inc.’s employees engaged. Tractivity was the perfect activity tracker to get employees engaged and moving throughout the day. Tractivity’s interface and admin feature was simple and easy to understand, allowing HSG to set up challenges for 51 teams across the Greater Toronto Area. These teams competed against each other resulting in engaged employees who were motivated to achieve their walking goals and earn office bragging rights. HSG saw engaged employees demonstrate a change in behaviour, developing healthy habits at work and at home.

HSG was keen to implement a program that offered their clients the flexibility to be involved in a workplace wellness program while still accommodating demanding work schedules and busy personal lives, and were successfully able to do so with Tractivity. We are proud to be a part of their success.

Kim Snider, President at Health Systems Group wrote about HSG’s success with Tractivity, and the dangers of sitting in an article in Corporate Wellness Magazine. Read it here:
